JETvarnish 3D users sweep ‘Best Use of Digital UV Inkjet’

MELBOURNE, FL, USA (May 6th, 2014) – MGI Digital Graphic Technology is honored to announce that JETvarnish 3D users brought home four awards at the Foil and Specialty Effects Association Gold Leaf Awards on April 29th in Milwaukee, WI.

With over 250 entries, the FSEA Gold Leaf Awards recognizes the most creative, brilliant, and innovative works in the hot foil, embossing, and specialty effects field. JETvarnish 3D users Sipe Steel Rule Die and The Printer’s Edge took home Gold, Silver, and Bronze in the ‘Best Use of Digital UV Inkjet’ category.

Sipe Steel Rule Die, located in Fort Wayne, IN, is a custom manufacturer of color swatch cards, POP displays and much more. Their Gold Leaf Award entry ‘Strawberries Into Water,’ which used soft touch laminate and foil stamping paired with textured UV, won Gold in the ‘Best Use of Digital UV Inkjet’ category. In addition, Sipe Steel Rule Die also took home a Silver Leaf Award in the ‘Creative Use of Lamination’ category for their entry ‘Holiday Sale.’

“This was the first year we made an entry and we were very impressed with the overall quality of the projects submitted. It is very important to us to have this recognition from our industry peers,” stated Steve Hatlem, President of Sipe Steel Rule Die. “The JETvarnish 3D provides a unique finish that very few printers are able to offer. The additional enhancement of the UV varnish gave the piece the ‘wow’ factor that helped us win the award, but more importantly the piece can be used to generate new and unique sales opportunities.”

Another winner, The Printer’s Edge, located in Orlando, FL, is a print finishing company that provides the nation’s finest graphic artists with a full line of finishing services to companies who want to grow and maintain their brand. Their Gold Leaf Award entries ‘Beyond Ink on Paper Gatefold’ and ‘Sample Kit- Digital 3D UV’ which utilized multi-level UV coating won Silver and Bronze, respectively, in the ‘Best Use of Digital UV Inkjet’ category.

“Our customers deserve the best in finishing and our team takes great pride in their craft. These awards serve as ongoing validation that we are at the leading edge in the industry,” stated Mark Resnick, Owner of The Printer’s Edge. “Our mastery of the JETvarnish 3D has allowed us to provide our customers with innovative solutions never before seen or offered in this market.”
